Survival is the one in a series of DLC planned for The Division. It features new gear sets, gear trading, new game modes, and more.
Summary[]
In DLC Expansion II: Survival, SHD agents have run out of supplies in the middle of a harsh Manhattan winter and will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment. Vulnerable, stripped of all gear, wounded and freezing to death, search for the cure in these unforgiving conditions and find a way to be extracted from this chaos. Our survival depends on it.
Gameplay[]
Survival pits 24 players against each other in a snowed out version of the Manhattan map. Hunger, heat, thirst, and more will determine your fate just as much as bullets and grenades. The mode is optional, but is considered a huge evolution of the game.
Plot[]
The plot is simple - a blizzard has swept through New York City, and the Division has sent out agents to get a cache of incredibly important anti-viral drugs from the city center. As they're moving to get the cache, their helicopter crash lands, scattering the agents all across the map.
While the primary enemy here is the environment, the agents themselves may turn on each other as well, especially considering that they have less than 2 hours to get to their objective. Food, heat, and gear make people go nuts - and if its survival of the fittest, your allies might quickly turn against you.
