Players need an extraction to remove new weapons from a Dark Zone. This process is started with the use of a Signal Flare. It takes ninety seconds for the extraction to arrive. During this time other players are signaled that an extraction is taking place and can attempt to attack the party to secure the new weapon.
Weapons secured through an extraction are then permanently the owner of the one who extracted it. The only weapons that can be stolen are recently acquired weapons found in a Dark Zone and have yet to be extracted.
